Turkey moves supplies east in case of war
A defensive posture. The news however, spins it as support to the U.S. effort. Bullshit. The news outlets are froathing at the mouth at the prospect of war.
Monday, January 27, 2003
Awhile back we stated that most likely WMDs had been smuggled back into Turkey to be used against forces in Turkey. Well NATO is close on its assessment on Turkey.
The most likely scenario to occur is terrorist attacks from within the borders of Turkey. Iraq would not be in a postion to consider such an attack. A few SCUDs being launched, that would be it.

Some War Protesters Uneasy With Others
Answer, whose name stands for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, was formed a few days after Sept. 11, 2001, by activists who had already begun coming together to protest policies of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Some of the group's chief organizers are active in the Workers World Party, a radical Socialist group with roots in the Stalin-era Soviet Union. The party has taken positions that include defense of the Iraqi and North Korean governments and support for Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugolav president being tried on war crimes charges.
We are constantly amazed at the opinions expressed on FreeRepublic
Moving 20,000 troops through Turkey is a far cry from troops being stationed there to conduct an invasion into Iraq. It is a logistical nightmare. All eyes will be on the Parliment to see if they approve of that.

The headline is hype, but the underlying subject is of great concern to the U.S. economy. If we do go to war with Iraq, the economy tanks, and North Korea contiues to pull its shit.
There is an underlying arrogance with the story line that special forces will secure the wells. It didn't happen in Kuwait and it sure as hell isn't going to happen in Iraq.

Spies in Iraq to remove Saddam
We have taken the position that Hussein should be a target. More effective, however, is to make those directly beneath Hussein the real target. Once the shooting starts and the targets are hit, Hussein's power structure folds.

Rumsfeld is an idiot.

These intellectual giants use the uterus argument? Ok let's just stick a fork in this one and call it done or better yet a partial birth abortion. We are sure some lawyer could come up with some argument that the mother's life was at risk if the baby's life remain in tact.
On the Right
You know, now that Ryan has actually given these death row monsters a break, I'd like to see he has to say to the victim's families today. Ryan should have to look in the face of a small girl and explain why he gave a break to the guy that killed her daddy. Let him explain his decision to a mother who had her child raped and murdered by one of these animals. Her kid is dead while these wastes of plasma who took their lives are going to live on for decades.
How many innocent have been wrongly accused and were heading to their deaths? Let the Dumbass who came up with the above arguement say that is ok.
Thank God the Pope is consistent on the matter.
It's a matter of protecting the innocent and since neither the abortionist or jury are infallible, the Pope's statements become what?
Infallible.

Any bet on WMD's being smuggled back into Turkey from Iraq and their purpose?

Will Turkey Get Involved In War?
Columnist Ferai Tinc comments on Turkey’s possible role in a US-led military campaign against Iraq. A summary of her column is as follows:
Not only Washington, but the Turkish military, too, is urging the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government to make up its mind on the Iraq issue. At a military reception on Wednesday, Gen. Yasar Buyukanit, deputy chief of General Staff, had this to say: ‘The government’s making a decision at once, be it positive or negative, is in our country’s best interests.’ About six months ago the US gave Turkey a ‘wish list’ for a possible military campaign in Iraq, but today the government’s reply is still not clear. That’s why the Bush administration has been sending sharp messages lately, conveying its impatience to get a firm response. There are even signs that the government’s hesitation may adversely affect Turkey’s economy. The US’ basic question to our country is crystal clear: ‘Will you or will you not cooperate and allow us open a northern front?’ This is critical to the course of a prospective US-led military operation on Iraq, in Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok’s apt words: ‘A northern front would be decisive both politically and militarily. With such a front, it would be far quicker and less risky for the US to achieve its goal.’ What this all comes down to is that if Turkey agrees to cooperate on its end, this could even perhaps avert a war, as the US’ deterrent threat against Saddam would be that much higher. Even certain diplomatic analysts believe that Turkey’s current reluctance to clarify its stance could lead Saddam to make deadly miscalculations and thus hasten the dogs of war. Whereas Gen. Buyukanit confines himself to saying, ‘There is a need for deterrent cooperation with the US.’

Jesus 'healed using cannabis'
The High Times article and the study is just an attempt to push for the legalization of cannabis. Your questions are important ones, but are very complicated from a legal standpoint. Merely look at the ups and downs of Native American use of sacramental peyote to have an idea of how arbitrary the court decisions can be.
One fundamental issue should revolve around the somewhat challenged concept of "equal protection under the law." Although I am delighted that Native Americans can use peyote as a sacrament, as Americans, how do they have a right to do so when an agnostic Christian may not?
The issues with cannabis as a religious sacrament are even murkier, as the courts have been extremely reticent to recognize any legitimacy to the concept. Now, if someone could actually prove that kaneh bosem, one component of the holy oil of the Israelites, is really cannabis, it might genuinely challenge the moral basis of prohibition.
The Catholic Church will have the last say.
Calamus is from SHD 7070 quaneh Hebrew kawneh and Greek kalamos. It is based on the term for reed being that which is upright.
In Exodus 30:23 it refers to Aromatic Cane Calamus (qeneh bosem) (Gr. kalamos euodes) It is qeneh hattob in Jer. 6:20 or "Sweet Cane." (Gr. thymiama) (Isa. 43:24; Kinnamomon and also "fragrant spices" (Jer. 6:20). See also Songs 4:14 where it is mentioned with cinnamon.
There is a distinction between the sweet tasting cane of Isaiah (probably sugar cane: Saccharum officinarum L.) and the sweet smelling substances of other passages, which are held to refer to the ginger grass andropogon aromaticus Roxb, which is native to northern India and highly aromatic.
